The Swamp
Conor, Sam, Tanisha, and I arrived at Brandon's house in Gainesville around 5 on Friday after a 3 hour drive-it actually went by fairly fast. That night, we met up w/ Charlie and Jen at Calico Jack's where Brandon treated us to dinner. Sam was sick after that so we took her back to the hotel, then we headed over to the Reitz Union for Gator Nites-cosmic bowling, air hockey, video games, slap bracelet decorating...good times =) The Campbells went home after that, but Brandon showed us around campus; it looks really pretty at night but my pics wouldn't come out too well.
Saturday, Brandon and I went in service while everyone else caught up on some sleep. We saw a guy doing karate in the middle of a parking lot; Ashley and Amanda sang their Spanish ABCs; Heather and Ashley signed their...sign language ABCs; and Brandon already has RVs! The girls went to the mall in the meantime, then we all met up and grabbed lunch. Somewhere in there, Brandon's bed broke-as tradition goes. And I was blamed for it-as tradition goes. But I was not even on it when it broke-as tradition goes. After lunch, Brandon and Conor went to play racquetball while us girls walked the campus....it's a very large campus. It's also very beautiful though and we had a good time. Eventually, we met the guys back at the apartment. We got dinner at the mall before heading to Brandon's friend, Jeremy's house. He had some pple over to hang out and watch a movie. A lot of nice, cool pple up there.
Sunday, us girls checked out of the hotel and went to Brandon's around 10. We all went to Panera for breakfast-beats room service any day! Sam stayed at the apartment after that to do some homework, while the rest of us walked over to the baseball field. Tanisha had wanted to see it Saturday, but we were too tired. Then we came back and changed for the meeting. We got to visit Brandon's hall and meet some more people. A couple of his friends, Amber and Matt, from a different hall met us for lunch. Then we went to play soccer with a huge group of witnesses from that area-lots of fun! Made really good time on the way home-2 hrs, 45 min from the soccer field to Tanisha's house, including a 10 min stop. I'm still catching up on sleep....but it was worth it. Next stop: Gator Growl!
P.S. Pics are up on Ringo
